Since I have been neglected my blog I thought the perfect way to work back into it would to do a post everyday with the catchy little title/themes...Me and My Monday, Things on Tuesday, Wordless Wednesday...I think I made up Thankful Thursday, but since we are in the month of Thanksgiving I thought it would be appropriate. Problem is, I do not have a catchy title/theme for Friday. I know many people used to participate in Ugly Outfit Friday, but all of my outfits are ugly and I am not in to photographing myself lately.
So...what to call today....Fantastic Friday would probably be okay if it was indeed a fantastic Friday, but it is not. Freaky Friday might work better, but what do I post for that? Fried Friday could be an interesting. Kind of stumped.
Plus, after having a horrible night, I wake to find out that a neighbor's husband hung himself. And then one of the blog families I have come to love is losing their little boy today.
Maybe a more appropriate title would be F-ed Up Friday, but that is probably too offensive.
Things I am Thankful for.....
My husband - He really is my best friend, he is a great father and just awesome guy. Even though he is looking for a job right now, he still has his sense of humor. And he kisses real good =)
My kiddos - K and N are just doing so well in school and I couldn't be prouder. I just enjoy being with them. C is doing well in football - playoffs this week and is still in counseling. He is struggling with his grades a bit, mostly just Spanish and English, but does get himself up and to school every day without much prompting from me. D is working two jobs right now and trying to get her car situation figured out. Anyone need a '01 Jetta transmission?? If she could sell that she would be able to get a car. J's girlfriend is 11 weeks pregnant. She is due on Rick's birthday. Lots of prayers heading their way. I could/should write a separate post about him......
Coffee - Iced and hot coffee make me very happy.
Church - great to have a family to grow with, worship with and change the world with.
Fuzzy socks - Three years ago, right after or right before my Mom Mom died my Mom went and bought a bunch of fuzzy socks for the sisters and grandkiddos. I love mine. One pair has Betty Boop on them =)
Candles - I have a berry one in the dining room, a vanilla* one in the living room, an apple pie one in the kitchen and a Love Spell one in the bedroom. I love lighting all of them at the same time and going from room to room sniffing in all the different fragrances. Heavenly.
Sleep - I have been sleeping better lately and liking it. Sleep is good.
What are you thankful for??
*I am not a fan of vanilla normally, but this one is like a vanilla sugar cookie of sorts. Yum!
Hatin':
Rick not having a job
The 14 year old not using his alarm clock anymore
The 18 year old girl leaving her stuff all over the house and not cleaning up after herself
My hair - I really need a haircut
Having to beg people to do what they are responsible for doing
Lovin':
Homemade iced coffee
Unexpected gift cards for groceries and date night
Laughter
Peanut M&Ms
The way the kiddos smell after a bath
Bubble baths
Caramel apples
Carved pumpkins
The color of the changing leaves
Getting an extra hour of sleep
Rick getting some side jobs/work
Extra babysitting
I haven't done one of these in a while. In fact, I haven't posted in a while either. But, here is a picture of John, the little boy I watch on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Now that the kiddos are all in school, he and I hang out together on Mondays.
I was going to post a picture of my homemade white chocolate mocha iced coffee, but I had finished half of it before I remembered I wanted to post today.
Hannahbanana and Jenny did this earlier and I meant to post K and N's answers. K's are pink and N's are blue. Just as a reminder K is 6 and N is 4.

When I first started blogging I would post every day, several times a day actually and I never cared if I was boring or funny. But, now I find it really hard to blog every day because most of the time I know I am boring and well, I just do not feel like making the effort.
But, I commited to blog every day and so here I am.
K and N cut their hair today. They have never done that before, but K had a knot in the back underside part of her hair so she cut it off. So, thankfully it was under her hair. N's was in the front, but with his blonde hair it is hard to see exactly where he cut it.
Sigh.
Rick left for a men's retreat today. He will be home Saturday afternoon. The kiddos say they miss him, but they will get to sleep in our bed tonight. Tomorrow we are spending the night at my friend D's house with her kiddos and my friend H and her kiddos. So, it will be 3 ladies and 6 kiddos. We are going to see Madagascar 2 on Saturday morning with my friend Q. She got free tickets from work.
Maybe they won't miss Rick too much.
All hell is breaking loose upstairs (I am using my parents' laptop since Rick took ours), so I better go!
Just like Janie I also joined this group a bit ago, but hadn't posted until now. This picture was actually taken last Wednesday at the National Zoo. It was a field trip for Noah's class. So glad the zoo is free!!
Watching 3van Alm1ghty and eating homemade ice cream sandwiches.
I love Family Night!
So sad about the little boy. I read the blog about him...I can only imagine their pain. Suicide...never understandable. So... read more
