I love Family Night!
It's been raining just about every day since last Friday. Kind of stinky. I am not good at rainy day crafts and activities with the kiddos so watching hours of mindless TV has been our favorite activity during the rain. Having a TV in the bedroom now is a bonus, so I do not even have to get out of bed while they watch the mindless TV. But, I have put a kabash on Sp0ngeBob. I can not watch another episode of that show. I think my head might explode yellow sponge all over the place. And having to clean that up would mess up the hours of mindless TV we are watching.
Sigh.
Kari and Noah both have coughs that are not so bothersome during the day, but have cut into the sleeping hours. Kari's even escalated into a vomit fest last night. Which resulted in her sleeping in our bed, kicking Rick to the couch and allowing me to get 1.5 minutes of restful sleep.
We have a doctor's appointment at 11:30 AM today.
Noah has really dry and itchy skin, very similar to ezcema. He had one particular itchy spot that my friend H slathered with lotion while we were at her house on Sunday.
I now think that spot is circular and raised, like, um, ring worm.
I am just glad it will be diagnosed and cleared up before we see family next week.
Sigh.
Time to get the cookies out of the oven. Because next to Tylen0l and Tr1aminic, cookies can fix whatever ails ya!
You know....starve a fever, feed a ringworm cookies.
I normally love this time of year when we get to turn the clocks back and catch an extra hour of slumber. But, last night around 10:30 AM Noah woke up with a horrnedous cough that resulted in vomiting. And then he woke up at 5 AM to do it all over again.
So, this year I got an extra hour.....but with a sick child. I want a do over. And I do not want to repeat it again next year.
Here's a picture of K and N before trick or treating last night.
And here's K's pumpkin.
N's was a carving of Th0mas, but the picture didn't come out very well. They actually were done trick or treating before we were (free candy, man!), but we let them come home. They had at least scored some Wh0ppers and a H3ath bar for Rick.
G1rl Sc0ut cookies are made by the devil. And sold by cute, little girls in green uniforms so you forget that Satan, himself makes them.
Evil, just plain evil.
And not just for breakfast anymore. Noah ate two Sam0as for lunch! And a cheese stick.
As my mother was leaving for the store I asked her to get me some Country Cock instead of C0untry Cr0ck (margarine). Instead of correcting myself, I repeated what I said and started laughing. She acted as though nothing inappropriate was said by responding with the following, which just made me laugh harder.....
"I have one downstairs. It's a big one. I don't like it. You can have it. I don't use it for cooking."
I was crying I was laughing so hard. And I thought you could only get that in Texas. HA!
Noah is totally addicted to DanAmials yogurt drinks. We bought an eight pack yesterday and he had 7 today. 5 within one hour (For the record I gave him one. The others he sneaked out of the fridge and downed in the kitchen beofre anyone could stop him! He had it all spilled down the front of his shirt like a drunk with jelly donut smeared on his stomach! Bring back memories, anyone? Bueller?) Josh was drinking one while Noah was suppose to be finishing his dinner (he ate two bites of Janie's Famous Corn Chowder - holding each bite in his mouth for 15 minutes at least! Yuck!) and he started shaking his hands and rocking back and forth while reaching for the bottle. It's like crack for toddlers. Seriously, he is an addict.
Today is Vox's first anniversary since the official launch. What's the best experience you've had on Vox in the past year?
Meeting new friends and having a new neighborhood without having to pack or move =)
The other day we were coming home from lunch and a quick stop at the halloween store. We had to pick up a crown for Kari's costume. She is a medieval queen this year. Noah is Dash from the Incred1bles. While Rick was getting Noah out of his car seat Kari and I walked to the front door. I didn't have my keys, so we had to wait for Rick to open the door. As we were waiting, I asked Kari which queen she was to which she replied, matter factedly, "the Queen of England". It was taking Rick a bit longer than usual to get Noah out and Kari asked me to open the door. I told her I didn't have the keys and she muttered, "Hmph. I am soo going to banish you!".
